Hand-knotted Isfahan rug in the Lachak-Toranj design with a cream field and a lacquer red border. The pile is kurk wool and silk on a silk foundation, at 60 raj. The design is a classic composition of a central medallion and four corner pieces. Isfahan carries the Safavid weaving tradition, with symmetrical designs and measured colour.
