Hand-knotted Tabriz rug in the Lachak-Toranj design with a cream field and a onion-skin border. The pile is silk on a cotton foundation, at 80 raj. The design is a classic composition of a central medallion and four corner pieces. Tabriz is among Iran's oldest weaving centres, known for refined drawing and precise knotting.
